In an August 2013 article from employeebenefits.co.uk, author Ian Silvera cites research from UK-based Capita Employee Benefits which indicates that 34% of employees in the UK feel that “being recognised for their work is the most valuable workplace benefit, after a pay rise.” Employees ranked recognition for efforts above other benefits such as flexible hours (22%) and even a promotion (17%).
These findings support the growing focus of UK-based organizations and employers worldwide to seek out ways to effectively and consistently recognize their employees for contributions.
