It sounds fun to be able to chat with the director. A less formal environment can actually help people even tackle sensitive issues, as there is less pressure, and you can always change the subject when the situation tends to get tense. I have experienced myself such a talk and the results were absolutely amazing. Definitely a must in all companies.
